First Airline CentennialSpecial United States Postal Service Commemorative Cancellation
The United States Postal Service has issued a special cancellation commemorating the Centennial of the World’s First Airline. This cancellation was initiated by Flight 2014 Inc. in cooperation with the Clearwater Stamp Club. We are indebted to Joe Chinnici, Club President, for the cancellation design. The cancellation may be obtained through March 30, 2014, via writing to:

Persons wishing to obtain a postmark should affix stamps to any envelope or postcard of their choice, address the envelope or postcard to themselves or others, insert a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness, and tuck in the flap. Place the envelope or postcard in a larger envelope and address it to: Pictorial Postmarks, followed by the Name of the Station, Address, City, State, ZIP+4® Code, as listed above.
Customers can also send stamped envelopes and postcards without addresses for postmark, as long as they supply a larger envelope with adequate postage and their return address. After applying the pictorial postmark, the Postal Service returns the items (with or without addresses) under addressed protective cover.

Tony Jannus/First Airline Stamp Campaign

Tony Jannus and his historic flight into history have yet to be commemorated with an official US stamp. While many aviators and aviation achievements have been recognized on United States postage stamps over the years, the World’s First Airline and its pioneer pilot Tony Jannus have not yet been so honored. It is particularly appropriate that such an honor be awarded for the Centennial of the first commercial flight in 1914. Please join with the Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society in seeking this special recognition for Tony Jannus and the World’s First Airline. We ask you to help in the following ways:
